Medical Donations
Honduras now requires a permit for all medication and medical equipment for donations. If participating in a SEPE International Honduras program, please contact us about any medical donations.
The permit takes a month to process, so all paperwork must be given to SEPE International a month before your arrival date.
By Honduran law, all medical professionals (doctors, dentists, specialists) must solicit a permit to practice in Honduras. The permit requires the U.S. medical professional to practice under a licensed Honduran medical professional. The Honduran medical professional must solicit a permit from the National Honduran Medical Board 45 days before a U.S. medical professional practices within Honduras.

Palmerola (XPL) Airport
The Palmerola airport sits in the city of Comayagua next to a U.S. military base.

San Pedro Sula (SAP) Airport
The San Pedro Sula Airport is in the northern part of Honduras near the coast. It is located in the farming and industrial part of the country.

Honduras has also implemented an electronic customs form for when you arrive at the airport.
Documents Required for Permit:

- Fill out all the information with your full address to avoid mistakes.
- Save the QR code to scan at the airport.
- This form will need to be completed to enter and exit Honduras.

Under Honduran law, children under age 21 who are traveling unaccompanied or with only one parent must have written, notarized permission to travel from the non-traveling parent(s).
Thing to Know
- Best practice – Draft or search for a document stating the minor can travel alone or with someone, not their parent or guardian. Then, get it notarized.
- Upon exiting Honduras, you must go to the Minors Immigration Office before checking into your flight. It is a simple process, and lines can be long, so plan an extra hour for this process.
- The Palmerola Minors Office is located to the far right, just inside the entrance for departures.
- The San Pedro Sula Minors Office is located at the B Terminal entrance.
