Start Dates for Gap Year Program

  • Spring: Feb 1 – Apr 26, 2025
  • Summer: May 10 – Aug 2, 2025
  • Fall: Aug 16 – Nov 8, 2025

Gap-year participants enter the program at any session start date and attend three, consecutive, 3-month program dates to complete the gap year.

Applications must be submitted two months before the program start date.

Ideal for recent graduates or those taking a year to explore their calling, the program offers an opportunity to experience missions firsthand and contribute meaningfully to communities in Honduras, Mexico, and beyond.

Affordable christian gap year programs

SEPE International’s gap year program offers a variety of options designed to fit different interests and goals. Participants can choose from several program types, including Spanish studies, cultural immersion, and hands-on ministry placements. Each type focuses on building a strong biblical foundation, developing cross-cultural understanding, and practical service in local communities. The program duration is a Gap Year (9-10 Months). There are three options: You can serve just in Honduras or just in Mexico, or you can serve in our Hybrid Gap Year program that allows you to serve in both countries. The cost for the Gap Year in a single location is $16,800.00, while the Hybrid program is $18,500.00.

    Christian gap year – FAQs

    What is the payment plan for the Christian Gap Year Intern Program?

    The total cost is $16,800 (Honduras or Mexico) or $18,500 (hybrid). A non-refundable deposit of $3,000 (single-country) or $3,200 (hybrid) is due upon acceptance. The remaining balance ($13,800 or $15,500) is divided into three equal payments: the first payment ($4,600 or $5,100) is due one month before arrival, the second payment is due at week 12, and the final payment is due at week 24. The program fee covers room and board, Spanish classes, and one cultural/historical experience per month.

    Can I participate in the Christian Gap Year program if I have food allergies?

    Yes! Let us know your allergies during the application process, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Participants should also take precautions in cross-cultural settings.

    How much spending money should I bring for the Christian Gap Year program?

    We recommend $50–$100 per month for personal expenses like snacks, souvenirs, and outings. Your main costs (housing, food, and program activities) are covered in the program fee.

    Why is Christian Gap Year better than Christian Gap Semester programs?

    A Christian Gap Year provides deeper spiritual immersion and sustained personal growth, allowing for stronger community bonds and a broader range of experiences, while a semester program may limit the depth and variety of engagement due to its shorter duration.
